Product Description

Product Description

The Model CY-T106-A dome fiber optic splice closure 48 cores is one of the main equipment for user access points, applied for protective connection and distribution between two or more cables. The primary function is to connect distribution cable and indoor cable in the open air. It’s widely used in communication systems, cable TV, optical cable network systems and others by virtue of steady structure, good sealing performance and easy construction. The mechanical structure is reliable and has the performance of resisting wild environment and  intensive climate changes and serious working environment. The splice trays( FOST) inside the  closure are turn-able like booklets, and have adequate curvature radius and space for winding optical fiber to make sure the curvature radius for optical winding 40 mm. Each optical cable    and fiber can be operated individually. The product can be opened again and reused after installation.

Product Installation

1. Preparation

- Inspect the Closure:

Before installation, inspect the dome fiber optic splice closure to ensure it is free from damage and all necessary components (e.g., seals, gaskets, cable ports) are included.

 - Gather Tools:

Prepare the necessary tools, such as cable cutters, stripping tools, cleaning supplies, and a torque wrench (if required).

- Plan Cable Routing:

Determine the entry and exit points for the fiber optic cables and ensure the closure is positioned correctly.

2. Cable Preparation

 - Strip the Cable:

Carefully strip the outer jacket of the fiber optic cable to expose the fibers and strength members. Ensure the length of the stripped section matches the closure's requirements.

  - Clean the Fibers:

Clean the exposed fibers using lint-free wipes and isopropyl alcohol to remove any contaminants.

- Cut Excess Length:

Trim the fibers to the appropriate length, leaving enough slack for splicing and future maintenance.

3. Mounting the Closure

 - Secure the Base:

Mount the base of the dome splice closure to a stable structure (e.g., pole, wall, or rack) using appropriate hardware. Ensure it is level and securely fastened.

 - Seal Cable Entry Points:

Feed the prepared cables through the cable ports on the base. Use sealing grommets or gel seals to ensure a watertight and dust proof seal around the cables.

4. Splicing and Organizing Fibers

   - Splice the Fibers:

Perform fusion splicing or mechanical splicing of the fiber optic cables. Protect the splices with splice sleeves or protectors.

   - Organize Fibers:

Place the spliced fibers into the splice trays or organizers inside the closure. Arrange them neatly to avoid bending or stress on the fibers.

   - Secure Trays:

Close and secure the splice trays, ensuring they are properly seated and locked in place.

5. Closing the Dome

   - Inspect Seals:

Before closing, inspect all seals and gaskets to ensure they are clean and properly positioned.

  - Close the Dome:

Place the dome cover over the base and align it correctly. Secure the dome using the provided clamps or screws.

 - Tighten Fasteners:

Use a torque wrench (if specified) to tighten the fasteners evenly, ensuring a proper seal without over-tightening.

6. Final Checks

   - Test the Seal:

Perform a pressure or vacuum test (if applicable) to verify the closure is properly sealed and waterproof.

   - Label the Closure:

Label the closure with relevant information, such as cable IDs, installation date, and contact details.

  -Document the Installation:

Record details of the installation, including cable routing, splice locations, and test results.

7. Post-Installation

- Perform Optical Testing:

Conduct optical testing (e.g., OTDR or power meter tests) to ensure the splices and connections meet performance standards.

- Secure the Area:

Ensure the installation site is clean and secure, with no loose cables or debris.

By following these steps, the dome fiber optic splice closure will be properly installed, providing reliable protection and organization for the fiber optic network.
