Product Description
GYXTC8Y figure 8 optical fiber cable is a central tube loose-filled,figure 8 self-support outdoor optical fiber cable for communication,which is convenient for overhead laying. The cable core is a single bundle tube, directly wrapped with PE material, and a longitudinal waterproof yarn is placed inside to ensure that each section of the optical cable does not leak water. The suspension part is made of galvanized steel wire or steel strand to ensure that the reinforcement is not corroded when exposed at any span point.
•Full section water blocking structure ensures good water and moisture resistance;
•Loose sleeve filled with special ointment for critical fiber protection;
•Galvanized steel strands are used as self-supporting parts,with high tensile strength and convenient construction;
•Reasonable design,precise residual length control and cable forming technology for superior mechanical and environmental performance;
•Product life more than 30 years.
Applications:Long-distance communication,inter-office communication
Laying method:Overhead
Working temperature:-40℃~+70℃;

The GYXTC8Y Figure 8 Optical Fiber Cable is a self-supporting aerial cable designed for outdoor communication networks. Its unique "figure 8" cross-section combines an optical fiber unit (containing loose tubes or tight-buffered fibers) with an integrated steel or dielectric messenger wire, enabling easy installation on poles or towers. Below is a guide for its installation and maintenance:
Confirm the route, pole spacing, and environmental conditions (e.g., wind, ice loads).
Use tensioners, cable grips, and suspension clamps compatible with the cable’s messenger wire.
Wear PPE (gloves, helmets) and ensure compliance with local electrical safety regulations.
- Support Wire Attachment: Securely fasten the messenger wire to poles/towers using approved clamps or brackets.
- Cable Suspension: Maintain proper sag (typically 1–2% of span length) to avoid excessive tension.
- Fixing: Use UV-resistant cable ties or lashes to bind the fiber unit to the messenger wire at intervals (e.g., every 50–70 cm).
- Bend Radius: Ensure the minimum bend radius ≥ 20× cable diameter during installation to prevent fiber damage.
- Grounding: Properly ground the messenger wire at both ends to protect against lightning surges.
- Avoid installation in extreme temperatures (< -30°C or > 60°C) unless specified by the manufacturer.
- Maintain clearance from power lines (≥ 1.2 m as per safety standards).
- Visual Checks: Look for physical damage (cuts, abrasions), sagging, or loose ties.
- Corrosion: Inspect messenger wire and clamps for rust, especially in humid or coastal areas.
- Vegetation: Trim trees or vines that may contact the cable.
- Clean the cable surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent to remove dirt or pollutants.
- Apply anti-UV coating if prolonged sun exposure is observed.
- Use OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) to monitor fiber attenuation and splice losses periodically.
- Check continuity with a light source and power meter.
- Repairs: For damaged sections, use splice closures or replace the segment entirely. Avoid field splicing without proper training.
- Documentation: Update network maps and records to reflect changes post-repair.
By adhering to these guidelines, the GYXTC8Y Figure 8 cable can deliver reliable, long-term performance in aerial communication networks. Regular maintenance ensures minimal signal loss and extends operational lifespan.
The figure 8 self-supporting structure of GYXTC8Y optical fiber cable gives it extremely high tensile strength, making it easy to lay overhead. This laying method reduces installation costs and is suitable for areas that require crossing large spaces or complex terrain.
Due to the low loss and low dispersion characteristics of optical cables, GYXTC8Y is very suitable for access systems and fiber to the home applications. It can provide stable and efficient optical signal transmission, meeting the needs of modern communication networks for high-speed and large capacity data transmission.
The design of GYXTC8Y figure 8 optical fiber cable is reasonable, with excellent mechanical and environmental performance, which enables it to meet the high requirements of optical cable for cable TV (cable television) and computer network transmission systems. In these applications, optical cables need to withstand various environmental and mechanical stresses, and GYXTC8Y figure 8 optical fiber cable are designed to meet these requirements.
In addition to the above application scenarios, GYXTC8Y figure 8 optical fiber cable is also suitable for other outdoor environments. The polyethylene sheath of the optical cable provides excellent UV resistance, and the full cross-section water blocking structure and special grease filled in the loose tube provide critical protection for the optical fiber, enabling it to maintain long-term stable performance even in outdoor environments.
